CREATING CONFIDENT CHILDREN

An international conference with a flavour of Scotland for all who work directly with
children and young people and who want to make a difference!

15 and 16 June 2009 - Westpark Conference Centre, Dundee

The current Scottish initiative for Children’s education and well-being is ‘Curriculum for Excellence’.

We need ‘excellence’ as never before if we are going to be able to educate and support our children and young people to face the challenges ahead of them and thrive in and transform the New Millennium.

Curriculum for Excellence aims to create world class learning experiences for every child and young person from 3 to 18, preparing them for life in the 21st century.

We want our children and young people to be:

  • Successful learners
  • Confident individuals
  • Responsible citizens
  • Effective contributors

This Conference will help you do just that!

Scottish Government Minister for Children and Early Years, Adam Ingram MSP, will address the conference on Tuesday 16th and delegates will have an opportunity to ask questions about current and future policy direction. Click here to e-mail us advance notice of your question.

We have invited world class speakers from UK and USA who are working at the cutting edge of change in relation to the way we work with and for children and young people.

We offer a choice of exciting and practical workshops focusing on music, art, drama, child-centred approaches, trauma and emotional literacy through African Story Telling, with teachers from Swaziland.

These workshops are designed to send you home buzzing with new and practical ideas and strategies to enhance your work with children and young people.

We have laid on a feast of Scottish music performed by local children and young people.

And the conference throughout will be chaired by the CONFIDENT CHILDREN of Dundee.

This is a conference NOT to be missed!
