It is full steam ahead as our bands and Discos perform throughout the North of Scotland and beyond for a vast number of Xmas Party Nights and other festive events. Our busiest month of the year will see our acts perform at most of the major hotel groups and venues. If you are attending a function in the Aberdeen area throughout December there is a very good chance you will be entertained by an act supplied by Elite Promotions.

Former Liverpool goalkeeping legend Bruce Grobbellar was booked by Elite Promotions for three events over a weekend in the North East. This was part of a three week Sporting Dinner tour which proved very popular. On the Saturday we took Bruce to Pittodrie for the Aberdeen v Ross County game and hopefully Aberdeen now has a new supporter.

Elite Promotions booked soccer legend Graeme Souness to appear at a fundraising dinner in Aberdeen. The event was held to raise funds for a local boys football club and a fantastic sum of 15,000 was raised on the night.

Offshore Europe has always been a major event in the Aberdeen business calendar. To compliment the bi-annual exhibition Elite have held a sporting dinner during each of the last ten events spanning 20 years. Sporting legends such as Barry McGuigan, Billy Bremner, Henry Cooper, George Best and Denis Law have visited the city to speak at these dinners. This year we were delighted that boxing legend Joe Calzaghe was our guest at a dinner attended by almost 300 business clents and guests. An Aberdeen FC shirt signed by Sugar Ray Leonard was included in a short auction with the proceeds going to MacMillan Cancer Care.

It was Company BBQ time and Elite planned and managed a BBQ for a well known client in the oil industry. The event theme was ‘Pirates of The Caribbean’ and we utilised the clients own premises and brought in a host of fun fair rides, entertainers and attractions to make it a hugely enjoyable event for the clients staff and families. Also in August we booked world famous explorer
Ranulph Fiennes who spoke at a client event in Aberdeen.

During July and August it is the height of ‘Wedding Season’ Although we book wedding acts throughout the year it is these two months that prove the most popular. We are involved in providing bands, discos, pipers, harpists and vocalists to perform at numerous weddings throughout the North East and beyond.

It was a joint Open Day and Fundraising Day combined which was held at a well known store in the North East. Former Celtic striker and cancer survivor John Hartson was booked to attend the event which raised thousands of pounds for cancer charities.

Numerous fundraising dinners and lunches were held throughout April with former West Ham, Celtic & Scotland striker Frank McAvennie attending three separate events throughout the month.

One of the most famous sporting personalities of all time spoke at a rather special dinner when boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard attended a dinner at The Hilton Treetops Hotel in Aberdeen. He spoke of his career and his life since retiring to a captivated audience of 400 people. He also signed an Aberdeen shirt that was auctioned later in the year with the proceeds going to charity.

The year started with a bang when we booked the current winners of ‘Britains Got Talent’, Collabro, to perform at a private client’s event in Aberdeen> The boys stunned the audience who had no idea who their ‘after dinner cabaret’ was and put on a sensational performance. The photograph shows Collabro with John Anderson of Elite. They did not let him sing!!
