Alan Kennedy
ex professional footballer

Alan Kennedy

Alan is probably best remembered for his goals which helped the most successful ever Liverpool team to win two European Cups in 1981 and 1984.

His career started in 1972 when he signed as a professional with Newcastle United and made his League debut as an eighteen year old in 1973. He played nearly 200 games for the Magpies, including the 1974 FA Cup Final (against Liverpool ), and the 1976 League Cup Final against Manchester City.

In August 1978, the late Bob Paisley broke the British transfer fee record for a full back when he paid £350,000 for Alan. During his seven years at Anfield Alan played over 350 games and won a massive trophy haul including:

5 League Championships
4 League Cups
4 Charity Shields
2 European Cups
2 Full England Caps

In 1985 Alan returned to his native North East and joined Laurie McMenemy at Sunderland for two years before having spells at Huskvana (Sweden), Beerschot (Belgium) and Club 1903 of Denmark.

Alan’s seventeen years as a pro ended at Wrexham in 1990 following a knee injury, but not before he played his 500th League appearance.

Alan holds his full badge at coaching and has been taking his highly successful Soccer School the length and breadth of the country since 1993.

Brian Turner

Brian Turner is one of Britain's most successful and well-known chefs. In addition to running highly respected restaurants in the UK, he has become a successful television personality, appearing regularly on 'Ready Steady Cook' and 'Great Food Live' and featuring as a judge on 'Master Chef'’.

History:
After training at some of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants in Europe, including 'Simpson's in the Strand' and 'The Savoy Grill', Brian went to the 'Beau Rivage Palace' in Lausanne, returning to England to work at 'Claridge's' and then the 'Capital Hotel' where he and Richard Shepherd earned a prized Michelin star. During his period at the 'Capital' Turner was responsible for the launch of the 'Greenhouse Restaurant' and the 'Metro Wine Bar', becoming executive chef of both. In 1986 Turner opened his own restaurant 'Turner's', in Walton Street, Knightsbridge, which set new standards for the British chef-owned restaurants – attracting a blend of local and international regulars. In 2001 whilst Turner's was at it's height Brian took another momentous career step and sold Turner's.

In February 2002 Brian Turner's Restaurant opened at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Birmingham's NEC, in association with the Aramark Contract Catering Company. This was set up as a three year contract.

Johnnie Casson Johnnie Casson

From your first encounter with Johnnie Cassonyou soon realise he not only tells funny stories, based on his situations in life, he is a genuine funny man with a natural asset, “like-ability”. Johnnie has appeared on five ITV Des O’Connor Shows, two shows for ITV from the London Palladium, with Bruce Forsyth, many guest spots on Game Shows, Chat shows and appearances on many entertainment shows for all major television channels, including his own half hour show on Sky One.

Johnnie Casson hails from Halifax, West Yorkshire, now living in Brighouse for tax reasons, as he will tell you. He commenced his showbiz career as drummer with “The Cresters”, one of the country’s favourite comedy show groups. It wasn’t long before Johnnie took over the lead comic role, a role to which he was perfectly suited and one to which he was committed for the 21 years with the band. As well as touring with The Beatles, the band topped the bill in the then thriving cabaret clubs and found success on many television shows such as “Cliff Richard & Friends”.

Whilst on holiday, his family persuaded him to enter a national talent contest. To his amazement, he not only won the heats, but also won the outright prize at The London Palladium. This encouraged him to leave the band and set off on the path as a solo performer. Television soon followed, an appearance on “Bobs Says Opportunity Knocks” prompted Bob Monkhouse to say, “Johnnie is one of the top four comedians in the country”. A chance to take part in Granada TV’s remake of the historic “Comedians” show found Johnnie being featured on all 6 shows and was critically acclaimed as the find of the series.

If you need a master of his craft, who also happens to be television celebrity , then Johnnie Casson will give your event a night to remember
