Lily & The Boys

This three piece band perform a fantastic range of party music and are recognized as one of the most talented three piece party bands in Scotland.  There is never a dull moment with Lily & The Boys and they can perform some Scottish music if required with the three of them on the floor dancing with the guests!!!

Splash

This five piece live band from Glasgow has been a tremendous hit in the North of Scotland in recent years at weddings and major corporate events. A top quality sound coupled with first class presentation sets this band apart from most other bands. Their non stop style performing medley after medley of fantastic music is sure to make your dance floor one of the busiest parts of your wedding reception.

Hot 'N' Kickin'

This brand new three girl band are making a real name for themselves in the North of Scotland. They perform numerous hits from the last four decades and their set is adaptable depending on the bride and grooms / clients taste in music. Using top quality equipment and lighting their sharp vocals and choice of material ensures your dance floor will be full all night.

The Buchaneers Jazz Band

Their toe-tapping music from the 20's & 30's era and genial approach has attracted followers of all ages, whether trad jazz enthusiasts or simply people out to have a good time. The band, while clearly all having a love of jazz, project a fun image as is evidenced by their rapport with their audiences. The line up consists of trumpet, clarinet, trombone, banjo, bass & drums. All band members want to get in on the singing act but leave the majority of this to the banjo player! This band are ideal for pre dinner entertainment and are an ideal ice breaker as the guests arrive from the service to the reception venue.

The Reeling Stones are an exciting ceilidh & pop covers band who are making weddings and functions go with an extra kick! The band are all professional and experienced musicians with a broad and varied repertoire so you can't fail to find your toes tapping their way ON to the dance floor. There’s something for everyone with a perfect balance between the traditional ceilidh dances and pop covers. Wallflowers will have no excuse as they ‘call’ instructions for all of the ceilidh dances! If the band have enough notice they are happy to learn your first dance choice, or a specific song in time for your big day.

  The Trybe
The Trybe consists of 4 principal musicians, 1 piper and 3 percussion players, who are supplemented by additional players as required. Depending on the performance they will employ additional musicians, dancers or weapon and armoury specialists. The approach from the band is full on pipes and drums,we like to think we have went back to the old style of using the pipes and drums rather than the very regimented style seen today.

Slinky

This four piece fully live band are based in the Central Belt of Scotland but such is their popularity in the North that we book them over 70 times a year at weddings and major corporate events. Slinky take you through a musical journey of top class entertainment with continuous ‘banter’ between the band and the guests.  They perform a huge variety of music including a Scottish set where they ‘call’ the dances when required.

Burlesque

This five piece ‘funk-tion’ band have become very popular in the last couple of years with their fantastic all live sound and superb female vocals. Mainly playing party music from the funky to disco to pop & soul. The band have played at many of the areas top corporate events and weddings. If required they can also add a short Scottish set.

Mateo is an excellent choice for the pre dinner entertainment when the bride & groom are on ‘photographic duty’. Deidre Varley - Caricaturist

A caricaturist can greatly enhance the pre dinner atmosphere as he or she sketches some of the wedding guests when they arrive at your venue for pre dinner refreshments and possibly some light entertainment. The guests can take away with them a lasting reminder of your wedding day as a keepsake. This is obviously very popular at weddings, particularly if children are involved.

Steve Ransome Band

This four piece live band have been performing at weddings and corporate events for many years. Their fully live sound is complemented by a wide variety of music styles ranging from hits from the 60’s, Scottish music and also hits from the last four decades.

This two piece band are ideal for a wedding reception which is being held in a venue that does not have a huge area of space for a full live band. They play music from the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s right through to up to date hits. These hugely experienced and talented performers are proving very popular for the smaller wedding.

Bahookie

As a 4-piece band consisting of Pipes/Fiddle, Bass Guitar, Piano/Guitar/Vocals and Drums/Vocals, one of the unique features of Bahookie is their vocal ability in singing popular Scots Songs, ie Auld Lang Syne, Loch Lomond, Flower of Scotland, The Wild Mountain Thyme, Killiecrankie and Dougie MacLean's Caledonia which is a particular highlight of the set.

Rococo String Quartet

This top quality string quartet can perform at the church/venue for the ceremony and/or as pre Dinner music at the reception itself.  Their musicianship is matched by their presentation as they are always immaculate in dress and professionalism.

The fabulous Billy Main is a solo act who has crashed on to the corporate and wedding scene in recent months. Singing to quality backing tracks Billy pays tribute to the music of the 'Swing' era with hits from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jnr. etc etc.

The fabulous sounds of the harp has always been a firm favourite for brides to request on their wedding day. Marie Main can perform with either the full sized harp, as shown in the video clip, or the Clarsach which is smaller version which is popular where performing space may be restricted. Marie can play, and sing, a wide variety of music and is always happy to liaise with the bride to ensure the music played on their wedding day is as they would wish.

John McRuvie's Cabaret Wedding Disco

Northsound 2’s hilarious breakfast show presenter John McRuvie now offers the ultimate wedding Disco Package. With top quality sound equipment and his own sound engineer present throughout the night John has a back catalogue of over 40,000 songs and his experience as a DJ stretching back over 30 years ensures a highly professional show. John starts the night with a hilarious short comedy sketch on the virtues of married life!!! He then introduces the bride and groom for their selected ‘first dance’. And the party goes from there. During the night John also ‘baby sits’ any children present with their own Disco spot with some games if required. Comedy is a big part of the night as John jokes his way through the wedding party until 1am. Elite Fun Casino

Over the last couple of years the Fun Casino has proved a real success story as it has been steadily used to provide some light hearted and informal entertainment as pre dinner entertainment at weddings. Guests are handed an envelope with a quantity of ‘Fun Money’ by the usher/best man as they arrive at the venue. They then exchange the Fun Money for playing chips at the tables (Blackjack & Roulette) and play in the normal way. At the end of the Casino session all guests ‘cash-in’ their money and the croupiers will advise the best man on had the most. As the best man starts his speech following the meal he presents a few prizes to the winners. If you are looking for something to keep your guests entertained pre dinner, this may be the option for you!!

Oceans 3

If the music from the Swing era is special to you then Oceans 3 would be your ideal choice. At weddings they can perform either as the entertainment prior to Dinner when the bridal party are on 'photographic duty' or can be part of the entertainment at the wedding reception itself, particularly if the party is being held to celebrate a Vegas Wedding. As you will see from their video they place a huge importance on creating a rapport with the guests and are a highly entertaining and talented singing group.

Formed in 2003, Danse McCabre has an eclectic, lively style, playing a mixture of old favourites and less familiar dances as required, and includes its own Caller. Described as 'fantastic' by Real Weddings magazine, Danse McCabre has built an enviable reputation as THE all-girl ceilidh band in the North of Scotland. The band also provides Scottish music for listening at conference banquets, weddings and other occasions.
